1950 Oldsmobile Holiday 88. 2 door sports coupe body style. The Holiday 88 body style was a 2 door without a post. It was top of the line in the 88 models for 1950, the lowest production number, and rarely seen nowadays. This car was restored to completely to stock factory configuration by a master restorer in Florida. It won awards in shows. After his passing, it was sold into a collection in Savanah Georgia. When that owner passed, I purchased the car from the estate. The car is as it left the factory, with the exception that I had it converted to 12 volt and a more powerful stater by Vintage Custom Auto at a cost of $5000. Also, I added a electric fan as sometimes it's over 105 degrees in the summer in my area. The 303 V8 engine runs strong, the hydramatic transmission shifts normally. Over the years a few flaws have appeared. The original type paint, nitro cellulose lacquer, has checked on the hood and top of the fenders. The radio does not work, or the clock, nor the heater fan. The left door latch sometimes hangs up. I've looked on eBay for another but haven't found one.The speedo cable broke a while back. There's a new cable in the trunk. I'm too old to do these minor repairs, so I'll leave it for the next guy. Recently, I had the foam in the seats replaecd, as well as the fabric inserts.The door panels were redone as well. The original marron leather was retained and gives the interior the look of being original. The chrome and glass are in very good condition. There is no rust. There is no smoke or excessive oil consumption. No major leaks, just a few dribbles. Somehow this car has escaped the junk yard, or being changed into a retso-mod or custom. Finding a stock 1950 Oldsmobile is not common. Especially in the Holiday body style. With some regret at age 83, I must begin selling some of my cars. I have reducded the price of this unique Oldsmobile to $24000 or offer. Inspections okay, but I do live out in the boonies. Additional photographs are available on request. Please no emails or text.
