1963 Mercury Comet Convertible 2 Door 260 V8 w/Factory AC – No Rust, Clean CA Title Up for sale is a first-year V8 1963 Mercury Comet Convertible Custom. This is a rust-free desert car originally from Carson City, NV, and now located in California. Always garaged. With its combination of a factory V8 engine, a functioning power drop-top, and rare factory air conditioning options, this is a fun cruiser project with an incredibly solid body foundation. Clean, clear CA title. Original 260 c.u. V8 engine. Solid floors, trunk, and frame with a rust-free body and no active body damage. Complete car with all factory chrome embellishments and trim pieces intact and present. The convertible top mechanical components work great. Recent maintenance includes a brand new rebuilt carburetor, new fan shroud, and a new water pump installed. Paint looks decent from a distance making it a great 20-foot driver, and the interior is worn with classic factory bench seats. Personalized plates are available if the buyer wants to keep them with the car. (Just need to complete the CA DMV REG 17 transfer forms together with me). Things to Note: While the damaged condenser is uninstalled and needs replacement, the rest of the factory AC setup is completely present including the heavy original compressor, factory brackets, and the interior under-dash vents and controls. The 3 on the tree manual transmission has a 2nd gear trick to get it smoothly into gear. The emergency brake line also needs to be replaced. The top has a few stitches starting to undo, and a couple of small holes in one tight cluster. The power mechanism itself works great.
