1967 Pontiac Catalina Convertible for sale in Boston, MA
Listed at $12,500 USD.
Reduced to $12,500 for a few weeks .1967 Pontiac Catalina Convertible , brought out from California years ago ( not driven in winter ) , has been sitting for a few years in a barn. It has zero rot in the body and frame. I have been all underneath it and the floors and entire trunk are all rock solid- there's only minor surface rust here and there and I know the difference between surface rust and real rust damage .The engine and transmission have low miles since they rebuilt them years ago. It's a 400 Pontiac and a Turbo 400 transmission. I have the paperwork on many of the parts and labor. It's a '73 400 block with 1969 #48 ( "RA III") Heads . It has .030" over Forged Pistons and and an Edelbrock Performer RPM Cam and Lifters (made long ago before the present day cam/ lifter problems) . The Edelbrock Cam is very similar to the factory #041 Cam and has a " lumpy " idle . It has an Edelbrock Aluminum intake and 4 barrel Edelbrock carb. The heads received $700 of work back then. It has AMEs reproduction factory style Long Branch Cast Iron Manifolds and a nice dual exhaust with an X pipe cross over . This car's exhaust sounds extremely good and It's not too loud And there are receipts for many more engine internal parts and exterior components . I just installed a new aftermarket GM style HEI distributor with an adjustable vacuum advance and a decent advance curve. The battery tray is even solid -the original brake and fuel lines are solid . The Convertible boxed frame it's totally Rot free and only has light surface rest here and there. There is no carpet in it and the floors are rock solid and even the lower parts of the trunk to quarter panel areas are all rock solid. The car runs great but it needs some things fixed like the tail lights . The back glass window is broken but I do have another glass window. It has a black interior and doesn't have the original bench front seat -currently it has a power one out of a Cadillac . I doesn't have the original door panels either they are redone. I didn't get the PHS report on it but it has the outline of the original 400 script on the front fenders. It has the original big car 8.875" ring gear ( non "posi" ) rear end with highway gears ( I haven't checked the ratio yet ) . It has a few dents. So it has a great engine and transmission and NO ROT and a little bit of true surface rust. The paint isn't perfect and it has some dings and has some scratches and peeling on the hood . Will consider trades with Rust free 1973-1991 Chevy Trucks ,Blazers , Suburbans and 1965 and '66 Grand Prix and Catalina 2+2 s .(I also have a true 1967 Catalina 2+2 Convertible project car with an excellent rot free frame and a rot free and very little rust body but it's missing its original engine and transmission and interior. It looks like it was taken apart for paint decades ago and the project ended. It's a real 2+2 and 1 of 286 convertibles . That car was an automatic with the 360 hp 428. I found the broadcast sheet under the console area . ) . If you're interested give me a ring 10 in the morning to 10 at night - thanks. My phone number will be in that above "reply" box you have to click on. Thanks .
