1967 Pontiac Grand Prix for sale in Atlanta, GA
Listed at $36,000 USD.
Up for sale. A truly unique, fun, one of a kind hot rod known as the BAT ROD. I've owned this car 20 years and have a folder 2 inches thick for everything that's been done and bought for it. It is a one year only convertible 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix with 2 year only Hide a Way headlights. (67-68) Grand Prix is the top level model for the Pontiac full size B body cars that include the Executive, Bonneville and Catalina. The G-P came factory with a 360hp 400ci motor & turbo 400 trans. You name it, it's probably been gone through, rebuilt or replaced. Very solid car that drives excellent. I have the original Protect-O-Plate. DRIVETRAIN- Numbers matching 400/400. Motor built very well by a Pontiac lover who owned his own shop, the #670 heads have been 3 angle, ported, hardened and goes on today's sheety gas. These are the RamAir#3 heads, came on G-P in 67 only. Car can sit for weeks on end and fire right up. No A/C but could add it. Transmission built by the guy who builds Bill & Chase Elliott's transmissions. Car recently had the front drum brakes converted to Disk Brakes. Stops great!! The 1967 Pontiac Heavy Duty cooling package was added at the same time. One year only parts and they made a huge difference. This came on things like wagons or for towing. Radiator, Heater Core have been addressed. It does have a dialed in Edlebrock carb/intake set up on it. Pertronix ignition. I run Ethanol free gas in it and add Octane booster. Don't know compression or H/P but my guess is over 400 H/P. Cool old school, hard to find Offenhauser valve covers, have a matching air cleaner not shown. At time of disk brake conversion, I had an electric vacuum pump added, makes great vacuum now. New alternator, volt reg, shifter cable, etc. INTERIOR- Seats recovered in factory stock sets w/Red piping sown in. Front/Rear door panels, carpet, rubber parts, lots of things replaced. Front seat bottom spring frames and foam were replaced new. Convertible top was taken down to the frame, cleaned and painted. New top pump motor, 2 cylinders, lines and an awesome black cloth top. Works great! I have a very hard to find 1 year only dash pad that goes with the car and numerous other dash parts. Dash is ready to be restored. BODY- Solid body, solid floor pans, solid trunk. Paint is 10 years old now, shows some flaws but looks great to drive. Trunk is detailed out, with a custom cut and installed stainless diamond plate bottom. Looks great. Windows go up n down. Rear bumper was rechromed. Lights all work. Emblems deleted except for the GP in the hide a way and back of deck lid. Gas tank was professionally restored with a lifelong process. Sweet sounding dual exhaust. Suspension gone through. Fuel & transmission lines replaced. Wheel bolt pattern is Chevy truck 5on5 w/15" Cragars. Here is what makes this car fun and special. The fins are about 85" long and from a 1961 Cadillac, professionally engineered to look awesome on this car. I've always said, "Looks Detroit to me". Pontiac tail lights are deleted, lights in the fins are LED and work for driving, braking, turn signals. I think it's time to let it go. I take it to an occasional car show and at every show a person or two tells me it's their favorite car there. I built it with a vision in mind, the world already had enough Red Camaros. If you want something truly fun that turns heads and be one of kind, this is it. I might trade for a C3 big block Vette, big block Torino GT. Not too much I want, I've had about all of it at some point. Here's the usual stuff. I don't need help selling it. Keep your low ball offers, why waste our time. Make it yours!!!!!
