1973 Plymouth Barracuda Cuda for sale in Modesto, CA
Listed at $11,000 USD.
Up for sale is a genuine, documented 1973 Plymouth 'Cuda (VIN: BS23). This is an original California car (original blue and yellow plates) that was optioned from the factory in stunning Tahitian Gold with Factory Air Conditioning, power steering and power brakes. The car is currently disassembled for a total restoration. Because it is completely down to bare sheet metal, there are absolutely zero hidden secrets, bondo surprises, or structural mysteries. This was a complete running driving car so I am including all parts that came with the car. Everything original to the car is included with many new parts. Only missing item is front windshield (broken during removal). This car ran and drove with all parts listed, just dismantled to correct any "hidden" surprises! You can find a mopar project like this for under 20k unless it's a bucket of rust. Drivetrain: The physical VIN stampings on both the engine block and transmission case have been verified and match the VIN plate. Engine: Original numbers-matching 340ci block (untouched long block). Cylinder Heads: Have upgraded swirl-and-port steel heads with smaller combustion chambers for improved bolt-on performance over the stock 1973 units. (Original “587” heads included as well). Valve Train: Placed into a carrier with guided positions for matching original location (untouched). Transmission: Original numbers-matching factory 4-speed manual with the iconic Pistol Grip shifter (rechromed, transmission untouched). Cooling/Exhaust: Includes a brand-new full aluminum radiator replacement (original copper radiator included), new replacement heater core, and a set of restored aftermarket headers that I received with the car (no factory exhaust manifolds). Rust Profile: The shell was completely sandblasted. This is a very dry, solid California lifetime car. Lower B pillar: Removed after sandblasting, have a patch panel (needs installation). Completed Metal Work: Passenger quarter patch installed, firewall blemishes (without patch panel still needs some light work but close to factory), and tail-light areas has been patched. The rusted factory trunk pan was removed. A new two-piece replacement trunk panel is included. The frame rails are rock solid; one tiny 2-inch flat section near the fuel tank mount was removed and simply needs a small patch. I am including level 2 chassis stiffening pack by US Car tool (~$1300). I installed cowl to fender braces for making the frame stiffer (these are hidden under the fender) but decided to let new owner decide to continue install or remove these modifications (the cowl to fender braces are needed if coil overs are utilized). Custom Modification: The factory roof drip rail channels were cleanly shaved and completely welded together for a smooth, custom look and superior future weather sealing. This can easily be reversed back to 100% factory appearance using standard weld-on replacement channels if desired. Rust areas remaining: There is some minor areas on the backside of the firewall for hood drainage that need attention, some reinforcement will be needed for the trunk pan. Spares Included: The car was 100% complete and running/driving prior to teardown. Most small hardware is bagged, and labeled. New In Box Parts: Premium carpet kit, dash recap kit, electronic distributor (rev-n-nator), multiple bushing kits, power steering rebuild kit, belts, exhaust gaskets, and a complete HVAC/airbox rebuild kit, coolant hoses, as well as the mentioned stage 2 stiffening kit. Multiple items are already partially restored: On days when garage was too hot or cold, items like dash and gauges were taken inside for restoration. Many of the parts removed before sandblasting were sandblasted at home to check if replacements were needed (Most were in acceptable condition). Used items I’m throwing in, all uninstalled swap meet grabs; a hot camshaft, timing set and lifters offenhouser intake manifold. Edelbrock upper intake manifold on engine (already on engine from previous owner), and some M/T valve covers. Interior and fuel systems: Most interior and original fuel system is untouched (I used a fuel can for my joy ride before disassembly). Bonus Items Included: If the buyer wants them, I will throw in a used commercial welder and an inexpensive Harbor Freight sandblasting cabinet to help you finish the build. Also including a repairable 1971 barracuda grill, not a repop (for swap meet trade value). Title and Logistics: Clean California title in hand, currently up to date on Planned Non-Operation (PNO) status. Please note: The original paper build sheet was destroyed by time, and the metal fender tag is missing. The matching block/transmission stamps serve as the definitive proof of originality. The car is currently sitting on a custom rolling platform secured to the frame. I can move it around the garage easily by myself. The bare shell is exceptionally light and can be easily loaded onto any small utility trailer. I will fully assist with loading the shell and the many boxes of parts. I hope for helping load you will send me pictures of this beauty once complete! Price & Terms: Asking Price: $11,000 OBO. You can't find a complete Mopar muscle car for less. Trades: Will consider partial trades for a ski boat of lesser value only, as I need cash on top of the trade. No Solicitations: I do not want any assistance selling this vehicle. Phone calls will be screened. Please text or email for phone appointment or leave voicemail and I will call back. I will not accept any lowball offer, and I’m not selling to anyone that won’t meet me in person (Anything scammy gets a “No”). I see rusted shells going for more using nationwide sales formats but I don't want to deal with shipping. Text or email for calls. 2O9, 4ninetynine, 7O fourtyfour.
