1977 Nissan 280z for sale in Redding, CA
Listed at $10,500 USD.
I’ll preface this with serious inquires only. And if you have questions re-read this before you text or call, because most all pertinent information will be on this post. If the post is still up, it’s still for sale. I’m reposting from about 8 months back, a good amount of work has been done since and there is still some to go. I’ll put as much detail in here as possible with what’s been done and have the paperwork to go with it from the shop. Compression test performed, all cylinders were around 130 PSI except for number 6 had 110. Bore scope into the cylinder at the valves, decent amount of carbon build up. Preformed leak down test on cylinder 6, over 50 leakage coming from both intake and exhaust valves. Also leakage coming from the rings. New wire set w/ cap and rotor, NGK spark plugs, wire set, Direct ignition distributor rotor and cap installed. Fuel tank drained and bore scoped, checked good. Injectors were leaking, replaced with new injectors and seals. Ignition was sticking, rebuilt and in good operating condition. No spark to vehicle after new components installed. Tested for power to the coil, no power. Wiring to the coil not wired properly. Rewired coil how it’s suppose to be, started vehicle, has a misfire and lack of power. Preformed cylinder drop test to determine if NO 6 was the culprit, no. Dropping 6&5 stalls the motor. Cylinder 2,3,4 give a little change to the idle but cylinder 1 has no change to the idle at all. Recommend checking timing on the motor. Fuel lines and coolant lines on and around injector rail deteriorated, replaced hoses and clamps. Thermostat, gasket and bolts replaced. Brakes were sticking, they work alright as of now but need to be addressed. I drove the car about 5 miles from the shop to my house and another 2-3 to where it’s parked now. It hasn’t been registered since 2018 and needs to be smogged. This is my moms car, I’m listed as OR on the registration. She wanted to hold onto it and pass it on to me but it’s become too much of a project for her to keep throwing money into and money would be more help currently than having the car. She is the original owner, bought the car off the lot in 77, had it painted black in 78, was originally OD green. The odometer has rolled once, so 99,198 is what’s on it (199,198). The interior was redone in black and tan ostrich leather in the early 2000s (my best guess around 03/04). I won’t respond to emails, text message or phone call preferred. No trades. 11,500 OBO 5 three 0 2 five 1 three 5 3 eight. Thank you for looking.
