1977 Volkswagen Camper Bus for sale in Anchorage, AK
Listed at $20,000 USD.
I am selling my 1977 VW Camper Bus. It has a straight up and down pop top which works well and is in good shape. Overall, the bus is in good shape. It’s old, so there are a few things going on with it. However, the engine was rebuilt in 2014 by Esteys and has less than 4,000 miles on it. The battery compartment has been rebuilt and the windshield replaced. Other miscellaneous work has also been performed over the years. The bus drives and shifts smoothly. Overall, the body is in great shape. I’ve had panels painted at different times, so there are some slight color variations, but all were done with regulation VW original paint color. The pop top has the original canvas and the side zippers work perfectly. The front zipper has separated a little and been sewn shut. The hinges work smoothly and hold the top up without any problems. The fiberglass is okay, but could stand repainting. I bought an expensive epoxy paint to do just that, but haven’t had the chance. I’ll send that paint with the bus in case you want to do it. All the doors and windows work well. The camping equipment inside has largely been removed as I was intending to remodel it. None of it worked, so there wasn’t any use in keeping it, in my opinion. The table is still there and the backseat pulls out into a bed. The refrigerator, cabinet, sink, and heater are all gone. Believe me, it’s an improvement and will make room for you to do your own customizing. One of the classic car body shops in town quoted me an astronomical price to take this stuff out so I did it myself. It does have the original carpet and original rubber flooring in the front, which is nice. The upholstery is all original. The front seats aren’t too bad, but the backseat needs to be re-covered. I just kept a cover over it, but if you are going to restore it, it will need to be reupholstered. It’s hard to find great old VW’s these days, but this is one of them. Well maintained. I’m only selling it because I just don’t have time for it anymore. If I can’t enjoy it, there’s no point in keeping it. Someone else can enjoy this fabulous VW camper bus, a definite oldie, but goodie. Asking $20,000. Please don’t expect to drive it unless you are serious about buying it. show contact info .
