Selling my 1979 Toyota 4WD short-bed pickup. This is an old-school Toyota that has had a considerable amount of mechanical work and upgraded components put into it. It’s not a restored show truck; it’s an honest vintage 4x4 that would make a great rock crawler, trail rig, off-road build, or project for someone who knows these early Toyotas. Engine - 22RE built by 22RE Performance - Approximately 4,000 miles on the engine build - Offenhauser intake manifold - Headers - Davis Unified Ignition (DUI) distributor - LiveWires ignition wires - Currently carbureted - Complete Holley Sniper 2300 fuel-injection system included with the truck, with the associated parts for the conversion Transmission & Transfer Case The transmission and transfer case were both built by Yota 1 Performance. - L52 5-speed manual transmission - 1981–83 style L52 - Built extra-heavy-duty - Approximately 300 miles since rebuild Transfer case: - RF1A top-shift transfer case - Rebuilt using OEM components - Currently equipped with a twin-stick configuration - Approximately 300 miles since rebuild A second good transfer case is also included with the sale. Interior The interior has received quite a bit of attention as well: - Seat professionally recovered - Brand-new replacement dashboard - Retro-style modern Bluetooth/SiriusXM stereo - Diamond-plate interior door panels - Custom shifter/twin-stick setup Body & Exterior - Genuine 1979 Toyota 4WD short bed - Period-style aluminum camper shell - Original-style red exterior with lots of character and patina. The body is not rust-free. There are scratches, surface rust, age-related wear, and heavier corrosion in portions of the rear body/tailgate area. I’m showing the condition honestly in the photographs rather than trying to hide it. The underside/frame also shows age and surface corrosion. Detailed underside photographs are available so buyers can judge its condition for themselves. Mileage / Title The odometer currently shows approximately 71,196 miles. I cannot verify that as the truck’s actual total chassis mileage, so it is being represented simply as the odometer mileage shown. The truck has a clean Nevada title and is currently registered in Nevada. It is not currently configured to meet California emissions requirements, so California buyers should plan accordingly. This truck makes the most sense as an off-road/crawler build or for a buyer whose intended use and local registration requirements accommodate the present configuration.
