1983 Volkswagen Vanagon Camper 3dr Mini-Van for sale in Seattle, WA

Listed at $7,500 USD.

1983 VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper – 1.9L Waterboxer – $7,500 OBO Located in Tacoma, Washington. Selling my 1983 VW Vanagon Westfalia camper. This is a running and driving Westy with a ton of GoWesty upgrades and years of maintenance and improvements. I've owned it long enough that I've honestly lost track of everything I've done to it. Every time I look at it I remember another part I've replaced or upgraded. This is not a van I recently bought and flipped. I've owned it, used it, maintained it and improved it over the years. It starts, runs, drives and stops under its own power. TITLE / BODY CONDITION — PLEASE READ The van has a Washington rebuilt title from previous front-end damage. It has gone through the required Washington inspections and is currently registered, plated and street legal with Washington Collector Tags. I want to be completely upfront about the condition: the previous front clip/body repair was not professionally done. The front sheet metal will need to be properly straightened and finished if you're looking to restore the van to a clean, finished condition. The front headliner is missing, and the driver's seat has some wear/tearing. I'm disclosing this up front because I don't want anyone coming to look at it expecting a restored or perfect Westfalia. It is priced accordingly. ENGINE / MECHANICAL - 1.9L Wasserboxer - 4-speed manual - Starts, runs, drives and stops - Motor mounts replaced approximately 5 years ago - Numerous maintenance items and upgrades performed during my ownership - I would recommend going through the mechanicals and cooling system before taking it on a long-distance/cross-country trip WESTFALIA CAMPER EQUIPMENT — ALL FUNCTIONAL The Westfalia camper equipment is complete, and the interior camper systems are functional. - Dometic 3-way refrigerator — works on all three modes - GoWesty refrigerator cooling fan upgrade - Original Westfalia stove — works - Sink and water system — works - Sink pump has been replaced - Original Westfalia cabinetry - Rear bench converts to a bed - Original rear table - Hard-to-find front swinging table and mounting leg - Overhead storage cabinet with built-in speakers - Original Westfalia privacy curtains - Pop-top - Fresh pop-top canvas - Webasto fuel-fired heater with electronic thermostat, running from the van's fuel tank - IOTA DLS-15 smart power converter/battery charger with IQ4 smart charge controller - Exterior 110V shore-power hookup panel has been replaced The refrigerator, stove, sink pump and Webasto heater are all currently working. HEATING / ELECTRICAL - Webasto fuel-fired heater with electronic thermostat - Heater runs from the van's fuel system - IOTA DLS-15 smart power converter/battery charger - IQ4 smart charge controller - Automatically charges through 110V shore power - Exterior shore-power/electrical hookup panel has been replaced - Numerous other electrical upgrades and improvements UPGRADES / EXTERIOR There are a lot of GoWesty upgrades on this van. I've owned it for years and can't honestly remember every single one, but some of the work/upgrades I do remember include: - Numerous GoWesty upgrades throughout the van - All exterior marker lights replaced - Heavy-duty steel front bumper - Hella driving lights - Rear receiver-hitch cargo rack - New windshield - New windshield seal - New front window seals - New rear liftgate gas struts - Fresh pop-top canvas - Leatherette/mesh front bra INCLUDED WITH THE VAN - Brand-new ARB Add-a-Room enclosure — still sealed in original packaging - Brand-new GoWesty fuel-tank reseal kit - Stack of spare valve-cover gaskets - Bentley Westfalia Shop Manual - Various other spare parts and miscellaneous items MILEAGE The current speedometer/odometer shows approximately 15,9xx miles. However, the speedometer was replaced before I owned the van, and I still have the original unit. Because of that, the actual total mileage is unknown. The mileage shown on the current odometer should not be considered verified actual mileage. THE BOTTOM LINE This is a complete, running and driving Westfalia camper that needs bodywork and some finishing/mechanical sorting. It has a ton of desirable Westfalia equipment, numerous GoWesty upgrades, a number of newer/replaced components and a bunch of parts included with the sale. It would make a great starting point for someone who wants to restore a Westy their own way, or someone who wants a usable camper/project without paying the price of a finished example. I'm not interested in pretending it's something it isn't. The rebuilt title and front-end repair are reflected in the price. $7,500 OBO Cash or cashier's check in person. Washington title in hand. Located in Tacoma, WA. *** The only trade I would consider is an adventure or dual-sport motorcycle of equal value; if it is anything other than that, I will have to pass, thanks.***
