**1985 Jeep CJ-7 | Chevy 350 V8 | 2 Owners | Owned Since 1993** **$29,900 OBO — Kansas City, MO** After owning this Jeep for 33 years, I've decided it's time to find its next owner. I bought this **1985 Jeep CJ-7 in 1993 when I was 14 years old**, and I've owned it ever since. I'm only the second owner. The original owner was from Iuka, Mississippi, so the Jeep has a very simple ownership history for a vehicle that's now more than 40 years old. It was **black from the factory and has been repainted in its original black color**, with a tan interior. ### CHEVY 350 V8 The original four-cylinder was extremely underpowered, so I had it replaced with a **Chevrolet 350 small-block V8 and upgraded transmission**. This was not a backyard engine swap. The conversion was performed by an experienced classic hot-rod builder who knew exactly what he was doing. The engine and transmission have approximately **45,000 miles** on them. The 350 has **tight-fitting headers and true dual exhaust exiting just ahead of both rear tires**. It sounds exactly like an old-school V8 CJ should. ### LIFT, TIRES & EXTERIOR The Jeep has a **shackle lift with larger tires**, giving it a slightly more aggressive stance while keeping the classic CJ-7 look. The tires are **brand new**, and I recently installed **new wider fender flares** to properly accommodate the larger tires and give it a clean, finished appearance. It has polished wheels and still looks unmistakably like a classic CJ rather than an overbuilt off-road project. ### TAN INTERIOR + CARPLAY/AUDIO The tan front seats are relatively new, while the rear seat is original. It also has an **8-inch Apple CarPlay display**, upgraded sound system, amplifier and rear speaker enclosure with **two 10-inch subwoofers**. You get the sound and driving experience of an old-school small-block CJ with some modern conveniences inside. ### FAIR-WEATHER / SUNDAY-DRIVE JEEP The previous soft top eventually aged out, and I never replaced it because I simply stopped driving the Jeep in bad weather. **There is currently no top.** I've used it as an open-air, warm-weather Jeep—the kind of vehicle you take out on a beautiful Saturday or Sunday, to cars and coffee, the lake, dinner or just because you feel like driving it. It gets **thumbs-ups at stoplights and questions from people almost every time I take it out.** I'm not representing this as a numbers-matching museum restoration. That's not what it is. It's a **two-owner, professionally V8-converted CJ-7 that's been owned by the same person since 1993 and built to actually drive and enjoy.** **HIGHLIGHTS** • 1985 Jeep CJ-7 • Only two owners • Current owner since 1993 • Purchased by current owner at age 14 • Original factory color: black • Repainted in its original black color • Tan interior • Chevrolet 350 small-block V8 • Upgraded transmission • Approx. 45,000 miles on engine/transmission • Professionally performed V8 conversion • Tight-fitting headers • True dual exhaust exiting ahead of rear tires • Shackle lift • Larger tires • Brand-new tires • New wider fender flares • Polished wheels • Newer front seats • Original rear seat • 8-inch Apple CarPlay display • Upgraded sound system • Dual 10-inch subwoofers + amplifier • Fair-weather/open-air use • No current soft top I've owned this Jeep for most of my life.
