Purchased from a friend in 2005 with 110k miles. Replaced engine in 2008 (standard 1.9L Wasserboxer) with 125k miles. Currently at 174,107...so 50k miles on this engine. Things that have been replaced/fixed: Over these 21 years I've had local mechanics (Louis, Porbug, Peacevans, etc..) replace most of the mechanical workings like the engine, exhaust system, fuel tank, radiator, brakes/rotors, suspension (shocks, control arms, bushings), etc... Interior replacements include tent, bed platform and shoulder harness installation. Also the front bumper and windshield. Things that need fixing: I had planned on removing the kitchen set up to replace it with a storage bench, but never got around to it. I quit using the kitchen 3 yrs ago and emptied the propane tank. The propane valve has since frozen, so it needs to be replaced in order to get the stove and fridge working again. Sink needs a new faucet. Skylight handle threading is stripped (needs to be replaced). Bulb for the dash (rpm) needs replacing...speedometer light is fine. AC was disconnected many years ago. In addition to the kitchen set up I had other plans for updates (that you don't need to do, but may consider down the road), like upgrading headlights, installing the aux battery, solar panels, etc. Cosmetically a B/B- largely thanks to the dent in front of the passenger rear wheel. Some fabric repairs have been done with iron-on patches. No true rust damage, just some light superficial spots. Low mileage due to being a bike commuter...but driven across town once every week. Outside of that it's been mostly camping trips in the PNW. Comes with an extra set of Northwestfalia decals, 3 bike rack for the hatch, 2 extra hub caps, speaker for the passenger door, removable center console, water hose, plug in power cable, and a huge stack of service receipts. Well loved, but runs unbelievably well. Sadly needing to move on.
