1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z 2dr Hatchback for sale in Mason City, IA
Listed at $7,500 USD.
FOR SALE: 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z. This is the last year for the early body style. This is one of only 5984 T top cars made for this model year. Approx 104k miles, although being sold as "mileage exempt" due to 5 digit odometer. Equipped as follows: 2.2 liter turbocharged engine 5 speed MANUAL transmission T-Tops with key locks Black leather bucket seat interior Power Windows Power Mirrors Tilt Steering Wheel Factory A/C AM/FM cassette Alloy wheels Appears to be all original paint and has no visible rust anywhere on the body. I bought this car out of a collection in North Carolina several years ago. The original selling dealer's name is still on the hatch. Car still has the original storage bags for the T tops in the rear cargo area. This is a good solid all original car that has not been screwed around with. The bezels around the interior door handles are missing (as they are on a lot of Daytonas) but I have a pair of new old stock MoPar ones that will go with the car. Car has some minor issues that will need attention to be a reliable daily driver: The fuel tank has a leak when the tank is FULL. After the level drops a little, the leak stops so I suspect a hose on top of the tank is leaking. Don't fill the tank all the way to the top and it is a non-issue. I have not had time to investigate the issue. The wiper linkage is off. The wiper motor runs, but the wiper arms do not move, so the linkage has popped off the end of the motor. The A/C does not blow cold. Someone has replaced the compressor in the past and it has been converted to r134a so I think a recharge would get it blowing cold again. The clutch does kick in and out with the switch on. The headliner is beginning to droop a little. This is a common problem with MoPars from the 80s The buttons on the clock don't seem to work. I hear this is another common problem with these cars, although replacement units are available on eBay. Here is a link to a walkaround video on YouTube: https://youtu.be/SyN2_RxQ4J4?si=I_urc190Lh7MB0Wq The car has the original owner's manual in the glovebox. I will also include a pair of brand-new ground effect skirts, otherwise known as "fences" that would attach under the rocker panels to simulate lower ground clearance. Overall, this is a nice all original example of a relatively rare version of the Daytona. I am putting it up for sale simply because I need the room, and honestly it is a little hard to get in and out of. It is a blast to drive once in though. $7500.00 CASH only. Sorry no checks, money orders, IOUs, or Bitcoin. I will accept a wire transfer with a PayPal deposit if you are an out of state buyer, however. Vehicle will not be released until all funds clear the bank. Buyer will have to make their own arrangements for transportation. (I can pass on the name of a broker that I have used frequently for transportation) Car is being sold "As is, where is" and has no warranty express or implied with regards to parts or service. I highly recommend a personal inspection prior to purchase. If you have any questions, please CALL me. I do not respond to text messages or emails.
