1987 Toyota MR2 T-Top – Gen 2 3S-GTE Swap – California - $12,500 OBO Up for sale is my 1987 Toyota MR2 AW11. This has been a long-term project with a focus on creating a reliable, street legal, AW11 MK1.5. The swap is nearly complete, but I want to be completely transparent about what still needs attention. Vehicle Information ● 1987 Toyota MR2 AW11 ● T-Top ● Clean California title in my name ● Planned Non-Operation (PNO) ● Minimal rust (excellent for an AW11) Build Details ● Rebuilt Gen 2 3S-GTE ● CT27 billet turbo upgrade ● E153 manual 5-speed transmission ● Genuine TRD Limited Slip Differential ● Gen 2 3S-GTE swap performed by ETL Motorsports ● Swap is installed and the car runs Suspension & Brakes ● BC Racing coilovers ● Upgraded brake system (StopTech, I believe) Included ● Car cover ● Optional T3 racing seat brackets and Bride bucket seat Known Issues I want to be upfront so there are no surprises. ● small oil leak that needs to be diagnosed and repaired. ● Speedometer and odometer stopped working after the engine swap and will need to be diagnosed. ● Suspected issue with one of the new axle assemblies or its installation. ● Swap is not yet BAR-certified. (Will pass once leak is addressed) ● Interior A-pillar/headliner trim on the driver’s side is damaged. ● Paint has cosmetic imperfections consistent with the car’s age and time in storage. ● Vehicle has been sitting for approximately 3.5 years while the swap was being completed. This is an excellent foundation for someone looking for a properly built AW11 with a rare drivetrain combination.
