1989 Volkswagen FOX GL 2dr Coupe for sale in Prescott, AZ
Listed at $9,500 USD.
Clean 89 Fox body. Straight rust free AZ body, good paint, interior, glass. Engine (5.0) was rebuilt with upgrades including jegs long tube headers, all stainless exhaust, trick flow intake with 70mm satin throttle body, MSD ignition components, G Force performance chip, mishimoto 3 row aluminum radiator with twin electric fan set up, trans rebuilt at same time, stock, with stock 8.8 rear end and highway gears(2.79). Additionally added full length sub frame connectors, , tires 50 series Firestone Firehawk with matching spare on brand new rim. Other items replaced at that time include fuel pump, brakes, brake booster, etc. All approximately 2700 miles since build. Also upgraded headlights/ taillight sets. Pros- everything mentioned and more I'm forgetting. Spare items including blue gt40 twin striping set, extra plug wires and plugs, tach, moroso overflow tank. Senior owned about 10 years. Covered parking. Cons- occasionally dies, I believe a vacuum leak, idle drops when holding the brake, replaced the usual things, electronic module in steering column, idle speed sensor motor, throttle position sensor, etc. but no change. Probably needs fine tuning, runs good but I don't feel it's running at its potential. No AC or heat, AC was disconnected pulling motor to rebuild and never hooked back up. Heat and AC knob on dash broke, (blue/red) so needs a new knob. Kick panels loose, needs new plastic connectors which I bought but misplaced. Passenger window I recently put down on a drive a few weeks ago to burn out old gas and won't come back up now. Maybe fuse, off track? Driver's side back tire has a slow leak and needs aired up about once a week. Rear hatch sometimes has to be shut several times before catching. Needs oil change, has sticky lifter from sitting and old oil. Hasn't been changed since break in after a few hundred miles. Probably due for a change. Drivers side head light loose, needs to be remounted. Everything I can think of, as you can see mostly small fixes done in a weekend off. If you know the value and popularity of foxbodys and what they go for, you can see it's a great bargain. I have almost twice that in it. My loss, your gain. Serious only, no pay pal crap, I'll ignore lowball sight unseen offers. Shop around then contact me. Not desperate but thinning the herd because of health and age issues. Rarely drive it. Note: will be working on it time permitting to address minor issues so price may be going up accordingly. May consider part trade( maybe half) for toy hauler trailer or gen 5 Camaro in decent shape.
