HISTORY: 2020 Wuhan Days: My buddy bought the van in Pagosa Springs. We drove it back to Denver, put 3 weeks of manual labor and preventative maintenance into it and then he toured the west coast for several months. We spent 3 weeks gutting the interior, seam sealed it, put in a ton of insulation (sound mat, pink R30) on the walls and ceiling, and screwed it all in. Floor has insulation, plywood, then vinyl flooring in the back / rubber in the driver area. We then built bench cabinets and set up a sink with water pump. We did drivetrain preventative maintenance as well, this kid was not a mechanic and drove all over the west coast, so we hit all the moving parts to be sure he didn’t get stuck in nowhere land needing a $2500 repair. 2022 I bought it from my buddy – he had no real use for it after Wuhan ended and everyone got back to work, and no place to store it. I've driven it to Austin twice, taken camping many times in Colorado; however, I'm over 50 now and I really don't rough it anymore. You will need propane and a gas generator in my opinion – solar is ok but I use a ton of power for AC, ice maker and the electric hot plate. The van has 2 @ 100 watt solar panels; however, I'm not a fan of several batteries to charge or the reliability of power vs a gas generator. Passed emissions September 2026, miraculous yet true.
