1995 Toyota Land Cruiser Base 4dr SUV AWD for sale in Phoenix, AZ
Listed at $32,500 USD.
I never imagined I would be sitting down to write an ad for this Land Cruiser. I’ve owned it for more than 13 years, and somewhere along the way it stopped being something I simply drove and became part of the family. This has been my baby. I genuinely believed it was one of those vehicles I would keep for the rest of my life. Unfortunately, because of medical reasons, life has changed those plans, and I have to let it go. I know I’ll never find one like this. This is a 1995 Toyota Land Cruiser 80 Series and it has the configuration that makes an already legendary Toyota even more special: Factory front locker. Factory center differential lock. Factory rear locker. A true factory triple-locked 80 Series. There’s a reason you almost never see one of these come up for sale. People who own them tend to hold onto them. Land Cruiser owners joke that you practically have to bury them with their trucks because once you have the right one, you don’t want to give it up. To me, this is the Holy Grail of Holy Grails. And this one isn’t sitting there waiting for somebody to spend the next several years turning it into the truck they really wanted. It’s already built. It has been thoughtfully set up as a complete overland rig, with more than $20,000 invested in upgrades and equipment. The suspension was very recently completely redone and professionally installed, with more than $9,000 invested in the suspension setup alone. It has approximately a 3.5-inch lift, giving it the clearance and stance you want without taking away the road manners that make an 80 Series such a great truck to actually drive. It sits on brand-new BFGoodrich All-Terrain KO2 tires, with nearly $2,000 invested in tires alone. Up front is a heavy-duty ARB front bumper, a WARN VR12-S winch, and large auxiliary driving lights. Up top is a full-size Rhino-Rack platform, giving you room for bikes, skis, snowboards, sleds, camping equipment, luggage or recovery gear. Recovery boards are already mounted and ready when needed. Around back is a heavy-duty swing-out spare tire carrier, full-size spare and rear access ladder. Open the rear and you’ll see that the truck was built for actual travel, not just for appearance. There is a custom carpeted cargo platform and drawer system that gives you organized storage for tools, recovery equipment, camping gear and luggage while maintaining a large usable flat area in the back. The electrical system was set up with the same idea in mind. It has an auxiliary/second battery system, rear 12-volt power, USB charging, and a 110/120-volt inverter with household-style AC outlets. So whether you’re camping, traveling, working out of the truck or simply somewhere far away from conventional power, the capability is already there. Mechanically, this Land Cruiser has been kept in excellent running condition. Major service has been addressed, including timing-belt and water-pump service, along with recent routine maintenance. It has new brakes, new batteries and new tires. Everything works as it should. It starts right up, runs strong and drives like a dream. Despite everything it is capable of doing, this truck has never been used as an off-road beater. It was built so the capability would be there whenever it was needed, not so it could be abused just because it could take it. The interior is immaculate for its age. The cloth seats, carpeting, dashboard, door panels, headliner and trim have been exceptionally well preserved. When you open the door, it simply doesn’t feel like you’re climbing into a 31-year-old four-wheel-drive truck. The entire vehicle has that same feeling — solid, tight, clean and cared for. Picture a cold, rainy Seattle night. The pavement is soaked, snow is falling over the mountain passes, and everyone else is wondering whether they should even make the drive. You get into this Land Cruiser, turn the key and go. Take it through the Cascades. Load the Rhino-Rack and disappear into the mountains for the weekend. Point it north toward Alaska. Joke that you’re taking it to the North Pole. If somebody ever builds a road to the top of Mount Everest, this thing will probably be ready for that too. It’s an absolute beast — but a comfortable, smooth, beautifully sorted one. And that is what makes this truck different. The expensive work has already been handled: professionally redone suspension and lift, BFGoodrich tires, brakes, batteries, ARB bumper, WARN winch, auxiliary lighting, Rhino-Rack, recovery equipment, swing-out spare carrier, rear ladder, cargo storage system, auxiliary battery and 110/120V power. You aren’t buying a project and then writing checks for the next two years trying to finish it. You’re buying the finished truck. This is not really for somebody who simply wants an old Toyota because it looks cool. I would much rather see it go to a true Toyota or Land Cruiser enthusiast — somebody who understands what the 80 Series represents, understands what the factory triple-locker configuration means, and will appreciate what has gone into preserving and building this one. I’ve put more than 13 years of time, money, blood, sweat, tears and love into this Land Cruiser. Selling it was never part of the plan. But sometimes life changes the plan for you. . Clean title. Everything works. Needs nothing. Runs and drives like a dream. Asking $32,500 OBO. Serious inquiries only. Please leave your name and phone number when contacting me.
