This Toyota runs very good, smooth shifts, as engine and transmission was replaced with a Japanese spec engine and transmission from Engine World in Texas. After 5 years in Japan, owners must get rid of their cars by their law, which leaves a great market in the U.S.A. for high quality used and guaranteed low-mileage engines and transmissions. My original 2001 3.0 American spec engine had a defect in the design of those valve covers, where the oil as it was circulating, became too cool and became sludge, damaging the bearings and scratching the bearing surfaces of the crankshaft. Toyota replaced the engines with a much-improved valve cover design until 2009 for owners - but NOT buyers who bought the car used. I should have sued them and did not bother to do so. So, I bought a used engine and transmission from Engine World for $1,400 ($1,000 for the engine and $400 for the transmission). $2,500 labor for the removal of the bad engine and installation of my used engine and tranny - purchasing a new torque converter as well. I also bought and had installed new catalytic converters (all 3 of them) for $600, including labor. My car has a slight oil leak coming from the rear bank, the sole reason why I refused to repair it. The front bumper skin needs to be replaced; the driver's side marker light is missing. The tires have wear and the passenger side front tire was replaced with a very good used one. The spare tire is full size, but the tire is in dire need to be replaced. Seats have the usual rips. A/C runs great for the original unit, have a rebuilt spare that was never installed. The rear window glass is fine, but this piece with partial convertible top can be replaced separately without purchasing a complete top. The rest of the top is in good condition and is working as well. I bought the car in 2007, been my daily driver ever since, just bought a 2007 Infiniti G35 in EXCELLENT condition to replace my Toyota.
