2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4dr 4x4 Automatic for sale in Grass Valley, CA
Listed at $3,000 USD.
Current mileage 243700 New (Factory Remanufactured) Engine @ 224946 miles. Engine Total miles: 18,754 Transmission Rebuilt@ 202968 miles. Transmission Total Miles 40,732 I bought this vehicle in 2002 as a “certified pre-owned” vehicle and have owned it ever since. I always maintained it with TLC. I intended to keep it “forever”, so I invested more than $10,000 into it in 2015 for the above listed work which included a couple of other things like a new power steering pump, new hoses, replace all fluids, etc. The remanufactured engine blew a head gasket at 224,946 miles and was replaced (complete engine) under warranty, which is the reason for differing engine/transmission mileage. I have receipts for all this work. The work was performed by Almaden Transmission and Automotive Repair in San Jose, a very reputable shop. Other work performed within, or approximately within the mileage range of the new engine and transmission are things like: New AC Compressor, New Alternator, New Radiator, New TPMS Transmitters, New front brakes (I include parts for the rear, but they’re in good shape ) etc. etc. Since I had no intention of selling, I didn't keep all those receipts. Long story short, I changed my mind and bought a new truck. The Jeep’s been sitting in my yard for more than 5 years. I start it up every month or two. I used to drive it for a few days, but it's now on PNO with no insurance, so I just "exercise" it on my property. This vehicle is not perfect, but it’s not a “major project” either. I intended to fix it up to sell, but I simply have other priorities. The body is very good except that there was some slight rusting at the top of the windshield that was not properly repaired. There are a couple of very minor dings on the rear hatch cover, and the clear coat is beginning to fail. There is a noise in the front driveline that I think is a CV joint. One heater blend door makes a strange noise after the engine is shut off, and has for years. After sitting unused for a few years, some warning lights now come on. I suspect that a little driving will clear that up, but I don’t really know. So, there you go. This vehicle’s life is an open book. I think $5000 is a fair price, all things considered. This would be a good vehicle for someone who wouldn’t mind getting it back into shape. I want to sell this, so I'm open to offers. I "had it sold" for the asking price, but the buyer decided to "bite the bullet" and invest in a new vehicle instead. If I don't get my asking price within a reasonable period, I'll periodically lower the asking price until it sells. Price has been lowered by $2000 $3000 OBO
