2002 Toyota Corolla CE 4dr Sedan Automatic for sale in La Salle, IL
Listed at $1,000 USD.
Well-loved 2002 Toyota Corolla CE for $1000 OBO. Clean title in hand. Owner in Morris, IL, car located in Braidwood, IL. The Good: New starter a couple months ago. New battery last winter. Good gas mileage. Cheap parts. Runs and drives (out of pure spite and Toyota engineering). Will probably outlive all of us. The Bad: Brakes need attention. Exhaust leak - loud and aromatic. Burns oil - needs topping off every month or two. A/C and heat don't work. Shakes at 65mph like it's trying to communicate in Morse code. Temp gauge lies like it's running for office. Check engine light is on. Radio does not work. Driver's window off track, crank is broken (new ones in glove box, but they don't match). Passenger door does NOT open at all. Donut spare is flat (I drove on it for months because life happens. Can be included.. for decoration?) Went 10,000 miles past an oil change once - it lived so clearly it's immortal. The Ugly: Rust. A lot of rust. (Rear wheel wells, hood edge, lower rockers, one mudflap rusted off - it's in the trunk, actual hole in the trunk floor) Dents on BOTH front fenders. (One from some parking lot menace slamming their door into it, one from my ex throwing a child booster seat at it. Long dent in the hood from said ex hitting it with a piece of wood.) Scratches, dings and general "life experience". Interior is worn - stains, missing trim pieces (included, just not attached). This car has seen things. It has stories. It has trauma. But it still runs. If you're looking for pretty, this isn't it. If you're looking for cheap transportation or a project, this is your car. She has a lot of life left, but unfortunately, I don't have the time, money or knowledge to invest any more into this car. It can and will run forever with a little TLC. I would much rather sell this to someone who can restore her to a better condition than giving it to a junkyard.
