2004 Mazda Rx8 Grand for sale in Washington, DC
Listed at $6,500 USD.
I’m moving, so after 22 years I am selling my 2004 RX-8 with Grand Touring package. This is one of the originals - I bought it in August 2003 immediately after they came out, gray with red/black leather interior. It was driven regularly until 2 years ago, but I never had a commute so it only has 72k on it, and it was garaged for 21 of the 23 years. Paint and interior are in great condition for a 23 year old car, and no accidents. I had the engine tested last fall and it passed the compression test. The car has the following performance upgrades: Koni yellow adjustable shocks, short shifter, solid urethane engine and differential mounts, Hawk Performance Plus brake pads, and a complete spare set of wheels and tires (but the tires are well used). It has an upgraded stereo with Pioneer head unit (bluetooth-compatible), Alpine amp, and Polk Audio speakers. I have all the original parts from all the upgrades, and they come with the car. Functionally just about everything seems to be working, except that the float in the coolant reservoir has failed so the coolant light comes on. I have already purchased a replacement tank and it just needs to be installed. No open recalls that I know of, and it passed its Virginia safety and emissions inspections in October 2025. I replaced the tires, coils, spark plugs, front brakes at 60k, and in the past year put on new belts, rear brakes, and replaced the exhaust recirculation pump. The body, paint, interior and undercarriage look good, except for 2 rust issues: a hole in the rocker panel beneath the driver door, and rust at the back edge of both rocker panels (both seem to be common issues). I had these checked out and they said they are cosmetic, and otherwise the entire undercarriage is in good shape.
