Family owned ‘05 Honda Accord with EX package for sale, selling because of inoperable engine. Bought new in 2005 and passed from father to daughter, no previous owners. Before the engine issues the vehicle was regularly maintained and reached 223366 miles. Has been daily driven for the life of the car. Vehicle passed inspection one week before engine problems, and has an active registration through August of 2027. THE GOOD - Has BFGoodrich All-Season tires from Costco (replaced 14 months ago with only 13,000 miles on them) that were regularly rotated, and has a lifetime alignment at Sears and then at Firestone (after Sears shut down). - Battery was replaced about a year ago. - OEM parts only for all work done to the car over the years. - Interior is in very good condition for the age of the vehicle. All leather interior with some signs of age but no large cracks and no rips, fully functional moonroof, and heated seats. - A/C and heat systems work great, very cold/very hot and reliable. - Car comes with a clean title, owners manual, original jack kit, spare donut tire, and two key fob keys. THE JUST OKAY - Driver side mirror doesn’t fold in, but is mechanically sound and still electronically adjustable. - Power steering occasionally struggles at start up in the winter. This only occurs when the car hasn’t been warmed up and goes away within the first few minutes of driving. - Windshield has a crack about 10” long, it was filled with Rain-X windshield repair kit nearly 5 years ago and the crack hasn’t budged since. Mildly annoying, but in no way impedes driving ability (see picture). THE BAD - Interior lights above driver and passenger seats flicker when turned on, not sure of the cause. - Needs replacement engine to run, as well as new fuel injectors. The timing chain jumped and caused engine failure, the cylinders and pistons bent. The car will crank, and if you give it gas it will run very rough for a few seconds but will die immediately after (see video). - Paint peeling in a small spot on rear bumper, and chipped paint in a few spots (see pictures). This vehicle has lots of potential for any DIY mechanic willing to put a little time into swapping the engine with a used or remanufactured one. It’s been great to me over the years, gets very good gas mileage and has a comfortable ride. It still has life left with someone more mechanically inclined, but it’s time I let it go and buy something new. Selling as-is for $2000 or best offer, cash or cashier’s check only.
