2006 Toyota Highlander V6 4dr All-wheel Drive Automatic for sale in Mason City, IA
Listed at $3,000 USD.
2006 Toyota Highlander Nice older Highlander that I’m selling for my folks, within Kelly Blue Book value! 293,6XX miles. Runs GREAT!! I don’t know trim lines from back then, but this one is premium – leather seats, power everything, sunroof, something in the back marked “heater” (sadly I don’t know what that is but the original owner’s manual is included). See the good, the bad, and the ugly lists below. This is a solid vehicle that has received great care – Dad took GREAT care of his cars. If I needed another vehicle or if my kid were a little closer to driving age, I’d absolutely be keeping this one. Send me a message if you want to see it. Selling online can cause spam, so please mention the item in your message so I know you’re a real person. Cash, Venmo, or PayPal only. F+F or add 3% for G+S. Test drives available at my house near Silver Lake in Rochester. If you want to take it home, we’ll go to the title office together to transfer ownership. If it’s after hours, you can reserve it with earnest money and we’ll write up a bill of sale, but you can’t take it till we’ve transferred the title. The good: My folks have owned it since December 2018 and have babied it. Mostly highway miles. The previous owners were a professional couple from Cloquet and they took good care of it as well. She used it to commute into Duluth, again mostly highway miles. The engine purrs. It’s had regular oil changes and service. All service records from the time my folks bought it are in a file that you get. Michelin tires! Bridgestone Blizzak winter tires included, along with what looks like more lugs than you need. Better too many than too little I guess. Appears to be relatively low rust underneath. The original owners must have rustproofed it. The aftermarket hitch receiver does have some rust. My folks only towed a utility trailer with this, and only when it wasn’t too heavy. Boats and big stuff was always towed with their full size truck. Leather seats, power everything. Heated seats. WeatherTech floor liners in front ($110 value). Heat is nice and hot front and back. See below for AC. Heated seats still work! 2 keys and remotes. Dad ordered a couple of headlight assemblies that I’m including. Not sure why he got them as the headlights work just fine, maybe he wanted something different. Use or sell as you see fit. The bad: There’s a battery drain somewhere in the car and 2 shops couldn’t find it (one shop was the dealership). The aftermarket auto start was disconnected so that’s not it. It will burn through batteries if you don’t keep it charged. I’m including a battery charger and a solar charger. Igmf you drive it every day you'll probably be fine. Dead batteries happened after it sat for a long time. Mom is disabled so after Dad's Alzheimer's got bad, it didn't get driven much. If you do let it sit for a week, just put the solar or AC charger on it and you'll be fine. I've had the solar charger on it for a few weeks and it's starting great. AC is cool but not cold in front and back. You won’t get heat stroke, but you probably should budget for a recharge soon. Swee Auto said they’d do it for $120 and it would only take 20-30 minutes. The leather seats look like 20 year old leather seats. Nothing major, just cracks and stuff that happens to leather after 20 Minnesota winters. There’s no reason they won’t last the life of the vehicle. The ugly: There’s a variety of carpet stains, most of which were from before us. No odors! It’s got scratches and scuffs and rock marks in the paint typical of a car this old. Windshield crack pictured. Obviously in a vehicle this age, it’s being sold as is. I’ve tried really hard to list all the issues and all the good stuff above, and as you can see, I’m doing my best to be really honest. Most of that bad stuff I didn’t have to disclose and you probably would not have noticed it. None of the other older vehicle ads I see online have disclosed this stuff, but all older vehicles have these issues. But I’m an honest Christian and would prefer to do business with other honest people. PRICE IS FIRM. I’m easily within Kelley Blue Book value even with the fantastic mechanical condition, the Michelin tires, included snow tires, WeatherTech mats, battery charger, and headlight assemblies. If it doesn’t sell, I’ll lower it every few weeks and let the market decide what it’s worth. Cross posted.
