First thing's first, this car does not run! I don't know much about towing, but it can't be turned on and put into gear that way. This vehicle served me well for a long time, and with a little love, it'll go a while longer. It's got a couple known issues, and I just don't have the tools or desire to service it myself, and it's old enough and has enough miles that I don't want to pay someone to do it. I simply want to get rid of it to someone who might do something with it. Issues: - Faulty brake actuator: this is a known issue for this generation of Prius, and unfortunately this one is well out of the recall coverage. This was originally the reason I was getting rid of it. It drove perfectly fine, but obviously the brake actuator is pretty important for stopping. For this reason alone, it would need a tow away. - 12-Volt battery is dead: After it sat in the lot for a few months without starting the battery died, obviously. I should have run it periodically to keep its charge, but oh well. I recently gave it a jump and it started up, ran for several minutes, and then once I turned it off it wouldn't start again. No lights, no sounds, nothing. From my research, it sounds like it's just the 12V, but I'm not a mechanic. - Front Undercarriage Cover is fairly mangled: This thing is low-clearance, and one too many scuffs broke the connectors attaching the plastic undercarriage cover in the front. it is currently held together with zip-ties (shown in photos). - Gas lid spring broken: cheap to replace, but it's kind of a pain to refuel as is. These are all the issues I know about. Recent Services: - Regular oil changes throughout its life - Brake service: new ceramic brake pads and composite rotors, fresh brake fluid, new shoes and drums. Completed 4/25/25, only a few hundred miles before I stopped using it.
