2007 Volvo Xc70 2.5T 4dr All-wheel Drive Station Wagon Automatic for sale in Boston, MA
Listed at $2,300 USD.
Selling my lifted 2007 Volvo XC70 AWD because I’m moving to Alaska and can’t bring it with me. I'd hoped this would be my forever Volvo and I’m sad to let it go. Clean title in my name. Available for pickup on or after October 21. You’re welcome to see it beforehand, but I need to keep using it through October 20 for my move. It has a 2-inch BadSwede lift spring kit, an additional 1-inch aluminum spacer lift in the rear, slightly oversized off-road tires, and upgraded IPD front and rear anti-sway bars for reduced body roll on pavement. I’ve taken it out on rocky trails when I was out in Cali and found it very capable. It's a practical, roomy wagon with extra ground clearance and plenty of character. I loved that I could make a grocery run one day and take the same car out into the mountains the next. It also has a rear trailer hitch, and I’ll include the ball mount with the sale. 237,795 miles, automatic transmission, silver exterior, and tan leather interior. Mechanically, it runs and drives well and I’ve continued using it despite the issues described below. Electrical issues: About two winters ago, what I suspect was water intrusion caused electrical problems that were diagnosed as an issue with the central electronic module (“CEM”). I haven’t had it repaired. It may be possible to repair the existing module by brushing off corrosion, or it may require replacement; it would take removing the CEM to directly inspect it to know. As a result, it has these issues: • Cabin blower motor does not run. The heater and cooler units still work, so I still get warm or cool air through the vents from passive airflow while driving, but there is no fan-driven airflow, including when stopped. This also limits windshield defogging. • Neither front power window works. The front-door power locks also don’t operate, so I unlock those doors manually. The fob still unlocks the rear doors and hatch. Rear power windows and sunroof work. • Radio works intermittently. • All of these issues started on the same day, so I have every belief that the underlying hardware and wiring to the doors and electrical controls are fine, it's all coming from the CEM. I’ve continued driving the car with these issues, but want the next owner to know exactly what they’re taking on. Other known Issues: • Timing belt was last replaced at approximately 140,000 miles, so it has about 98,000 miles on it since replacement (recommended interval is every 100k-120k). • Cosmetic wear, including peeling paint/clear coat on the hood and some peeling on the front fender, plus scratches and wear consistent with its age and use. • There is also a slow power-steering fluid leak. I keep fluid in the car and top it off approximately once a month. I’ve driven it this way for about five years without steering difficulties Best suited to someone comfortable with an older, high-mileage Volvo. Inspections welcome. Located in Cambridge, MA. Please reply with any questions or to arrange a time to see it.
