2009 Chevy Express School Bus About 22ft bumper to bumper Gas 167,000 miles 6.0L Vortec V8 Engine Interior living space (minus front cab area) is about 14ft by 7.5ft Tow capacity about 10,000 lbs Bought in 2024 directly from the school district so it was excellently maintained. They are required to retire busses after so many years for children's safety - even if there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. It is in great shape, no issues runs perfectly. Gas mileage isn't great but better than you'd expect. About 12-15 mpg depending on weight. It is currently registered as a non op since I haven't been driving it. I began the conversion but ended up running into some health issues and cannot finish the project unfortunately. It is a great base, I did all of the initial work no one wants to do. It would make a great burning man vehicle or even an Airbnb/guest space to add to your property. Since I got hit with health issues a couple of things are unfinished such as the interior paint and the laminate flooring. I have extra paint and plenty of flooring for the new owners to finish those touch ups. We had the flooring completely laid down but we decided to pull up the back part to install the bed platform and never got around to putting it back down, as you can see in the photos. It is very easy to install though. The bus is wired for shore power (professionally done) and has two wall outlets installed so it's ready to hook up to any RV space or even your house power. We left a dedicated space under the bed near the breaker for a battery bank if you would like to install solar or hook up batteries to the alternator. The bed platform in the back lifts up for underneath storage and can also be accessed by the back door. The floor is insulated with a plywood subfloor and the walls are insulated up to the windows. Here are some things that come with the bus but are not yet installed: - A Czechoslovakian army tent Woodstove, it's the perfect size for this bus and has a flat cooktop. - A brand new ceiling fan/air vent, still in the box - A brand new lock for the back door There is also a mini fridge and a dresser in the bus It's ready for whatever adventure you want to take it on!
