For sale: my 2011 Volkswagen GTI, 4-door hatchback, 2.0T, DSG automatic, ~99,299 miles. Clean California title in hand. Dark gray, mostly stock, straight body, good cosmetics. Power sunroof, plaid cloth interior in clean shape. The situation, plainly: the timing chain/tensioner failed -- shop codes P0016, P0341 plus misfires -- and the car doesn't currently start. In May 2025 a VW shop (Alameda Import Automotive, Oakland) opened the timing cover and documented bent valves; the engine doesn't turn over by hand. I'm including their full invoice in the photos -- codes, diagnosis, and their written repair estimates -- so you know exactly what you're buying. Priced as a rebuild-or-swap candidate for someone with the skills or shop access. The shop also noted the engine burns oil, the oil drain plug is stripped, and the tires have flat spots from sitting.
