2012 Volkswagen Tiguan SEL 4dr All-wheel Drive 4MOTION Automatic for sale in Raleigh, NC
Listed at $2,800 USD.
2012 Volkswagen Tiguan SEL for sale as-is. Needs engine diagnosis and repair. The vehicle has a check-engine light and engine-running issue. Diagnostic codes include P0016 (camshaft/crankshaft timing correlation), P0300 (random/multiple misfires), P0301, P0303, P0304 (cylinder misfires), and P0506 (low/unstable idle). It might be a simple fix for some one who knows how to fix cars, I will be happy to provide the full story which might help with diagnosis. The vehicle is being sold as a repair project. Based on the codes, it may have a timing-chain, timing-chain-tensioner, camshaft timing-control, oil-pressure, sensor, or another engine-related issue. This has not been fully diagnosed, and the buyer should inspect it or have a mechanic inspect it before purchase. Because of the current engine condition, I recommend that the buyer plan for towing rather than driving the vehicle home. Recent maintenance and repairs Despite the current engine issue, substantial service has been completed: New battery installed recently — approximately $200 Recent oil and oil-filter change Rear differential fluid changed recently Tires installed in 2023 and remain in good condition due to limited driving Trailer wiring recently installed and stored in the jack compartment Original factory jack included Owner’s manual included Repairs completed in April 2024 Timing-cover gasket replacement PCV valve replacement Fuel-cap gasket replacement Intake-manifold replacement Sway-bar-link replacement Brake-fluid flush Intake-valve cleaning Other known items TPMS/tire-pressure warning light may come on intermittently Rear exterior bulb warning appears on the dashboard; bulb may need replacement Black reflective film applied to sunroof Sold strictly as-is, where-is, with no warranty or guarantee. Price reflects the engine issue and repairs needed. Serious buyers are welcome to inspect the vehicle or bring a mechanic. The interior and other things are in great condition, e.g. heated seating, lights, leather etc.
