2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i Touring for sale in San Antonio, TX
Listed at $8,000 USD.
Selling my Forester as I'm buying a newer vehicle. This car does need some updates and repairs, and I no longer live near my mechanic dad to do these on my own safely, so I'm choosing to separate with the vehicle. Me and my dad have done all repairs and maintenance for the last 45k miles. Simply, it's just getting older and I don't have the time to do it all. I have done oil changes every 5k miles, using 5W-30 full synthetic. The car is regularly cleaned and washed. No pets. Garage kept. I have taken it on two cross-country moves and it has done well. Originally purchased 2023 from a dealer in MI (they had installed new brakes, rotors, and tires), so you will see some midwest surface rust. Maintenance history since purchase: - Alternator replaced 8/3/25, purchased from AutoZone - Control Arms, lower front, both, replaced 6/12/25, purchased from RockAuto (MOOG CK622857 and CK622856) - Alignment 6/13/25, local shop - Spark Plugs replaced 10/17/25, purchased from AutoZone - O2 sensors, upstream and downstream, replaced 7/24/26 at Subaru North Park - Transmission fluid serviced 7/24/26 at Subaru North Park - MAF sensor replaced 7/25/26 at Subaru North Park Current Needs: - New catalytic converter, according to Subaru North Park and Six Star Auto Repair (smoke test and pressure test done). As a result, the lovely Subaru lights come on when they get fussy. - Very slow leak in the timing chain cover (according to my dad, Subaru North Park, and Six Star). I put in half a quart about 2,700 miles after each oil change. - Strut bearings, but I'd just replace the whole thing cause it's easier. Rides fine, just sounds like it would for needing new bearings. It was known at the time I purchased the car and it hasn't gotten any worse. I have had them checked at mechanics periodically to ensure this is the case. - Tires are at 5/32 getting close to 4/32. Eventual Needs: - Wheels, the original wheels are showing degradation and I guess at some point will need a repaint or replacement as it causes a very, very slow leak of air every couple of months. - Brakes and rotors. Still fine, no grinding yet, but they're the originals from purchase and have about 45k miles on them. I am fairly firm on the price. I am being fully transparent with repairs needed and understand what parts cost on RockAuto for these updates. Comparative cost on kbb for this is closer to $10k or $11k, so I am adjusting accordingly for the two major needs. Any meeting must be done at a public place, no home visits. Independent inspections are welcome and I would meet you at your proposed inspection location. I prioritize safety and transparency, so exchange of funds and title must be done inside a bank or credit union to ensure an authentic transaction. Photos on request.
